This week in 1980 there was a little something for everybody in the top five on the Billboard charts.

A five time Grammy Winner, a six week number one song and a song that would jump FIFTEEN spots to break into the top five.

#5 'With You I'm Born Again'-Billy Preston & Syreeta

#4 'Funkytown'-Lipps, Inc. This song had the biggest jump of the week moving from #19 last week. It would also go on to be a number one song in two more weeks. The groups name is also a 'play on words' and is pronounced Lip-sync. (Six years later the Australian group Pseudo Echo would remake the song and have success with it).

#3 'Lost In Love'-Air Supply

#2 'Ride Like The Wind'-Christopher Cross. Cross would go on to win five Grammy's including; Record, Album & Song of the Year. Cross would also pick up the Best New Artist Grammy.

#1 'Call Me'-Blondie. This would be the 5th of 6 weeks at the top spot for the song. It was featured on the soundtrack to 'American Gigolo' starring Richard Gear. Originally, Producer Giorgio Moroder had Stevie Nicks in mind for this song.
