Do you remember growing up and having your parents read fairy tale stories to you like Cinderella, Red-Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel?  Well apparently parents these days have decided that some of the classic fairy tales are just to scary to read to kids.

According to Express UK:

One in five parents has scrapped classics such as Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and Rapunzel in favour of more modern stories, according to a study published yesterday.

A third said their children were left in tears after hearing the gruesome details of Little Red Riding Hood. and nearly half rejected Rumplestiltskin as a bedtime story because of its themes of “kidnapping and execution”.

Similarly, Goldilocks and The Three Bears was thought to condone stealing.

Here's a list of fairy tales that parents are not reading anymore.

"Hansel and Gretel".

"Jack and the Beanstalk".

"The Gingerbread Man".

"Little Red Riding Hood".

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

"Cinderella".

"Rapunzel".

"Rumpelstiltskin".

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears".

"The Queen Bee".

Luckily, television and movies take care of the fairy tales.  Just check out Once Upon a Time on ABC or Grimm on NBC.
