10 Ways to Tick Off a Person in Amarillo

We love the city we live in.  We call Amarillo home and we take pride in our city.  Now I know we all have our gripes and grumbles about the city every now and then, but it's our city.  So when someone says something or does something to our city we get a little ticked off.  So here are 10 ways to tick a person off in Amarillo.

Call it Ama -Ree-O

Yeah, it may look like the Spanish word, it is spelled like the Spanish word, heck it was named after the Spanish word yellow.  But for the love of all things holy, pronounce it AM-UH-RILL-O.

Tell Them Amarillo Sucks

Again, it is one of those things, we can say Amarillo sucks, but if you don't live here that is the easiest way to tick us off.

Talk Bad About the People of Amarillo

Don't try to call us stupid or dumb.  Amarillo is full of a wide variety of awesome people.

Tell Them That Lubbock is Better Than Amarillo.

No how, no way.  Just don't do this.

Talk Crap on High School Football

We are a Friday Night Lights town and we love our High School Football.  So don't you dare say a bad thing about our High School boys busting their tails on a Friday night to win a game.

Try to Disrespect the Flag

Let's face it, people are proud of their heritage and don't like to be told what flag they can and cannot fly.  This includes the Confederate Flag, and don't you dare disrespect an American flag around us, it could get ugly.

Talk Crap on the Cattle Industry.

Remember what happened to Oprah.  We love our cattle and we love our beef.

Try to Develop Downtown Amarillo

The perfect way to get Amarilloians in an uproar

Ask Us if We have Eaten a 72oz Steak

Let's face it, this is a tourist thing and most people in Amarillo have never actually been to the Big Texan much less tried the 72oz steak.

Toss a Cigarette Out Your window on a Red Flag Day

Just don't do this, we have seen way to much devastation in this area from grass fires.  So do not toss a cigarette out your window.  That will tick us off!
