Two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J joined six-time winner Taylor Swift to announce the 2013 Grammy nominations on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and the words no one said were "wow, really?" because it was basically a lineup of the usual suspects.

While most of the nominations went to return offenders (and we do mean "offenders" -- have you heard Swift or Katy Perry sing live?), 'We Are Young' band fun. came out of left field to snag a whopping six nods.

Strangely enough, these included Best New Artist, despite their album 'Some Nights' being their sophomore effort. But accuracy is for dorks. It may as well have been their debut in the eyes of the mainstream.

Nods that particularly made us smile? Frank Ocean for Best New Artist; Kelly Clarkson (who can sing tax documents and make them awesome), for just about every pop category; and Pink's 'The Truth About Love.'

One contender who's not done slaying just yet? Adele, who swept last year's Grammys, is back once more to show them how it's done. The '21' chanteuse earned a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Set Fire to the Rain [Live],' the only live track included in the nominations list. Because, yes, she is that much better than you. Deal.
