The Amarillo ‘Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (SPCA) is a 501©3 non-profit organization.  A no-kill dog and cat shelter, operating solely on donations and fundraisers.  They appreciate the Amarillo SPCA volunteers.  They only have four employees, two of which are part-time.  They could simply not survive without dedicated volunteers who provide the many animals (approximately 140) with love and attention.  They would like to encourage other ‘pet-lovers’ to volunteer.  The minimum age for volunteers at the shelter is 18, and 16 at PetSmart on Saturdays. But you are never too old to be a volunteer.  Help them any way you can.  Can you spare a day, or even an hour a week to help?  Without continued support of our community, they wouldn’t be able to keep the shelter open.  Your volunteer time will be greatly appreciated, not only by them, but more importantly by the animals who will reward you with their love.  If you are unable to donate your time, perhaps consider a monetary donation.  Amarillo SPCA is located at 11901 S. Coulter, and the days and hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Phone number is 806-622-0555.   Website: www.amarillospca.net.
