Adam Levine showed off a new look while on the set of his first movie, ‘Can a Song Save Your Life?’. The Maroon 5 frontman posted a photo of himself sporting a bushy beard for the cause.

Levine traded in his groomed aesthetic for the film, transforming into what he calls “Grizzly Man!” He tweeted this photo for his fans after shooting a scene for the upcoming flick with co-star Keira Knightley in New York.

The movie follows two aspiring musicians, who move to the Big Apple to pursue their dreams. However, the selfish boyfriend, played by the ‘Voice‘ coach, eventually dumps his lady love after signing a solo recording contract. Knightley’s character is then discovered at a local bar by a producer played by Mark Ruffalo.

Levine will also share the big screen with talents like Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener, James Corden and fellow ‘Voice’ coach Cee Lo Green. The John Carney-directed flick is expected to open in theaters in 2013.

Before then, fans will get the chance to see what kind of acting chops Levine really has this fall. The star will appear as a recently married man in a “gory” second-season episode of FX’s ‘American Horror Story.’
