Don’t tell me Saturday night's alright for fighting, maybe get a little action in.

A man apparently upset at some houses Saturday night opening fire and striking three of them. All homes expected to survive.

Amarillo Police received a report of gun fire on the 1400 block of NW 16th Avenue. Arriving officers located Lonnie Charles Brydie, armed, allegedly intoxicated, and most definitely in the middle of the street.

When contacted by officers, Brydie dropped the gun on the ground. It is unclear whether his underlying respect for authority caused him to drop the weapon, if had gotten all the homes he targeted and was finished, or if he was simply just startled. The important thing is the excellent work of the APD in avoiding another SWAT standoff.

Brydie was taken into custody and when he got to jail found he was entered in Judicial Power Ball. He’s got Discharging a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Public Intoxication, Pedestrian in the Roadway. He qualified for the power play with an outstanding municipal warrant. If he wins he gets annuity payments.

The wounded homes each declined to make a statement.
