Amarillo Makes WalletHub’s Best and Worst Cities for Families List

When it comes to Amarillo, is it a good city to raise a family?  Amarillo has a ton of family friendly places and activities as well as a great school system.  WalletHub put together a list of the Best and Worst Cities for Families and Amarillo is on the list. 

WalletHub analyzed 150 different cities to find which cities were the best place for families.  They determined the rank based on family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socioeconomic environment.

Overland Park, KS came in as the best place for families, and Birmingham, Alabama came in as the worst city for families.

So where did our great city of Amarillo rank?  We came in at #24.  Which is pretty great to be in the top 25 out of 150 cities.

Amarillo received and overall score of 61.02.  The family fun score was 55, health and safety was 80, education and child care was 71, affordability was 19 and socioeconomic environment was 37.

Two other Texas cities made it in the top 25.  Plano came in at #3 and Grand Prairie was in at #13.  Lubbock came in at #52.
