Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

Holy Cow! I Saw My House On TV While Watching A Stephen King Biography [VIDEO]
I was going through some old video tapes recently and discovered a biography that aired on the Bio Channel. I had taped this back in 1999 and it was produced by the BBC. Since growing up in Maine, Bangor to be exact, I always enjoy watching things about the writer or anything else that pertains to Maine. In a way it kind of takes me back home but, never did I realize that I would SEE MY HOME on TV
Hidden Messages Inside The World’s Most Popular Brands
When companies begin to work on a logo for their product they put in lots of hours and money to find the right design to reflect their brand. This committee usually consists of; board members, designers, consultants, ad agencies and then is presented to a focus group to get their take on it. But it goes even deeper than that.
Take The Ultimate Road Trip On Route 66
I was talking to my Dad the other day and he brought up a road trip he has always wanted to take. He mentions it from time-to-time, but it's so cool to hear the passion in his voice every time he mentions it.
Dad has always wanted to jump in his 1957 Austin Healey and just enjoy a nice ride on the Mother Road, from start to finish. We even talked about how he would pick me up in Amarillo and we wo

Batman’s Rogue Gallery: Who’s Your Favorite Movie Villain?
On Sunday one of the TV channels was running a Batman Movie Marathon. I wasn't paying close attention to it, but had it on as more of background noise. But, it did get me thinking about who was the best 'big bad' from the film franchise? Although it's tough to out Joker Jack Nicholson's prince of pranks, I gotta give it to Heath Ledger. He brought in an award winning performance. Where Nicholson t
4 Artists Who Wrote Songs They Secretly Hate
It's one thing for a singer/songwriter to come up with a song that they love and then have to play it day in and day out on the road, but what happens when they write a song that they hate from the beginning.
Believe it or not, there are some famous singers who have written songs that they will forever be tied to and cringe every time they play or hear their song on the radio.

Back To The Future’s Clock Tower: Where Have We Seen This Before?
Hill Valley, California. Home to Marty McFly, Doc Brown, the DeLorean and the famous downtown Clock Tower. It was exactly 10:04pm in 1955 that a lightning bolt of 1.21 jigowatts hit the clock tower, channeled to the time machine, and sent Marty 'Back to the Future'.
Sadly, none of us can visit the fine folks of Hill Valley, but we can go the spot of the clock tower which is located on the back lo
Do You Remember These Songs From The Eagles’ Solo Albums? [VIDEOS]
Over the weekend I ended up watching The Eagle's concert DVD, 'Farewell 1 Tour.' to be honest, I watched it then immediately started it over and watched it again. There's no denying the catalog of music they gave us from 1972 to 1980. They played all the hits, including a couple, at that time, new tracks from their 'Hell Freezes Over' and 'Long Road Out of Eden' albums. The four part harmonies nev

The Songs Of Jim Steinman [VIDEOS]
Like my previous story about 'The Songs of Diane Warren,' Jim Steinman is another one of those major songwriters who you may not be familiar with, but have heard his music on the radio. Jim's big commercial break came when he began working with Meatloaf on the 'Bat Out Of Hell' project in 1977. Years later Meatloaf and Steinman would try and catch lighting in a bottle one more time with 'Bat Out O
