Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

Rick’s ‘Lost Classics:’ Rick Pinette & Oak
Being born and raised on the East Coast, I was lucky enough to be exposed to some New England bands that had some regional success, but were unknown in pretty much the rest of the country. One of my favorites was a group that started out as 'Oak.'
5 Songs To Get You In The Mood For The 4th Of July [VIDEOS]
It's almost time to celebrate our day of independence and what better way to do that then with music. There are so many songs to choose from that pay homage to our great country, but I drilled it down to five of my favorites. Of course, I welcome you to add to this list, since this is in no way complete. I've also added one that will make you go, 'what?' Let's call it the 'bonus' song and here is
The Songs Of Diane Warren
We normally associate our favorite hit songs with the singer or group who performs them, but there are many, many talented writers out there who provide these singers with some of their biggest hits. Diane Warren is one of those people.
Another Trip To The Transmitter Site or Some Midday Muddin’
I had to take a trip to one of our other transmitter sites on Wednesday. We were having some technical issues, because of the storm that was circling around the city. This site is on the way to the Rick Husband Airport and there are a couple of options to get to the building. I could go through the gate or cut through the field.
5 ‘Oh Wow!’ Songs From The 80’s That You Forgot All About
It's no surprise, the 80's was and still is my favorite decade. Since I started in radio in 1981, I've had many a 80's record ingrained in my memory. Sometimes that can be a good or bad thing, depending on the song. I can't even count how many times I played 'Island In The Streams' or 'Endless Love' every three and half hours back in the day...
5 Songs To Kick Off The First Day Of Summer
It's hard to believe that it's officially the first day of summer. Summer means different things to different people. Summer vacation, your first love, spending time with the family and summer trips. Here are 5 songs that will get you in the mood to start your summer off right...
Maroon 5 and ‘The Voice’ Judge Adam Levine
Adam Noah Levine was born on March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Brentwood High School in Los Angeles, where he met future Maroon 5 band members, and most recently finished up season four of 'The Voice' on NBC. He will also be on the road with Maroon 5 this summer as the group tours with Kelly Clarkson...
Did ‘The Voice’ Accidently Reveal Two Of The Finalists Within The First Few Minutes Of The Results Show [SPOILER]
If you watched NBC's 'The Voice' last night (6/11) you are well aware of the three performers that are going into the finals. If it's still on your 'to watch' list, then stop right here, because I will be talking about the finalists below the break. I'd like to know if you noticed what I caught last night.
Rick’s ‘Guess The Album Cover’ – 1981
Today's round of 'Guess The Album Cover' comes from 1981. This group was considered progressive rock (for it's time) and one of the first of the so called 'super groups.' Out of the 13 albums that have been released, so far (their 14th, 'Valkyrie' will be released later this year), seven have started and ended with the letter 'A' and were one word titles.
A Trip To The Mix Transmitter Site
As you have noticed, we have been having some power issues as of late and our signal can get spotty in some areas. Believe me, I feel your frustration. What we thought would have been a minor issue has turned into a much bigger one. We ordered parts to fix the issue and after they arrived and work began we realized that there was even more things that needed repair. We are hoping that, at the late
Rick’s ‘Guess The Album Cover:’ – 1983
As you know, my favorite group in the world is Huey Lewis & The News. The first time I saw them in concert was when they were the opening act for Loverboy in 1981. I've seen them over a dozen plus times through the years. The most recent was last summer (2012) at Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque.
Rick’s Review: Jurassic Park Builder ™ App – Just Don’t Let Them Eat The Guests
I've fallen into the 'app trap.' It started with Farmtown on Facebook, followed by Bejeweled, Smurf Village then Candy Crush. But, my new favorite app takes me to an island to help John Hammond in rebuilding Jurassic Park (start theme music here).
