Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

Rick’s Top Toys From Childhood
I would have to say that growing up in the 70's as a kid wasn't a bad thing at all. There weren't as many distractions as there are today. We played with our friends, watch cartoons on Saturdays and had some cool toys to play with
The Origins Of Some Famous Sayings
When I was 15, I was working three jobs during the summer. I had the overnight (graveyard) shift on the weekends at WZON/Z62 AM, I also held down a spot at the local record store, located in the Bangor Mall and helped out at WHSN, Husson College's radio station.
My mom would always tell me the I was going to 'work myself to death.' That was one of those phrases that I heard a lot over the years. O

I've had this blog rolling around my head for a few months and I'm surprised that it has taken me this long to actually put it together.
It seems that there has always been a connection with actors and singers. Singers want to act and actors want to sing. Some have had success on their 'singing' career by camping it up, think William Shatner and his rendition of 'Rocket Man'.
5 Things You May Not Know About Rattlesnakes [VIDEO]
I agree with Jim Stafford and his 1973 hit, 'I don't like spiders and snakes,' but this is Texas and we have our share of both. So, why on Heaven's green earth would I even want to write about snakes?
Well, I do find them interesting, but like my other fascination, Sharks, I wouldn't want to be around one.

TV Themes That Became Pop Hits [VIDEO]
They were some of the most popular shows of their time and had some pretty catchy opening songs too. It's hard to say if these tunes had anything to do with the success of the shows, but we liked them enough to request them on the radio and buy the full version of the songs.
Some of these songs started out as a mere one-minute TV Theme and had to have verses added for radio airplay. While others w
