Rick Andrews

Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

Keep in mind that these are not put in any particular order, so one is not better than the other. They all rate pretty high in my book.

MyPod: Asia

With over 3,000 songs on my iPod, you would think it would be easy for me to choose what song/group to talk about every Tuesday. But, sometimes I go through so many songs in a week, it's hard for me to pick just one.

This week I thought we would take a look at a band that was considered a "super-group" in the eighties.

You’ve Just Entered The Twilight Zone [VIDEO]

By now you should know that I am a self-proclaimed Sci-Fi geek. So, I was really excited to find out that CBS and Image Entertainment had decided to start releasing "The Twilight Zone" on Blu-Ray. So far, they have released the first 3 seasons, but the "geek" in me really came out when I saw all the extra and special features that were attached to each set.

The Beatles’ Take Over America [VIDEO]

It was 46 years ago today that the Beatles' took over the music charts and, as far as I know, it's an achievement that has NEVER happened again.

The Beatles had made their first U.S. appearance barely two months before and "Beatlemania" was sweeping the nation.

April 5, 1980

Welcome back to the beginning of the work week. Yes, Monday. It's probably the longest and toughest day of the week, but the good news is that it's time to check in with the #1 song this week in 1980.

The top five songs on the chart this week had some pretty strong contenders. Three of them would, at some point, would hit number one.

Signs The Relationship Is Over [VIDEO]

One thing we always hate to hear in a relationship is, "I think we would be better off friends." For most of us, this means only one thing, the relationship is over. I don't know about you, but it takes me some time to get over a breakup, before we can move into the "friends" stage.

BTM: My Sharona [VIDEO]

They were the fresh-faced power pop group who dressed in the black-and-white style of the early Beatles. As a matter of fact, they were hailed (early in their careers) as the NEXT Beatles. Their album, "Get The Knack,"  was recorded in just eleven days for a budget of $18,000 and would make the history books for being the fastest selling debut album  of all-time.

But, let's find out the story of "My Sharona" as we go "Behind The Music."
