Rick Andrews

Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

Latest Contestant Eliminated From ‘American Idol’ [VIDEO]

'American Idol' season 10 is officially down to the final three. Over 72 million votes were cast this week, making it the highest top-four vote ever in the history of the show.

Unfortunately, even record-breaking numbers weren't enough to save James Durbin. The 22-year-old rocker was sent packing Thursday night, marking yet another surprise in an already surprise-heavy season.

Are you desperately searching for that perfect triple-word score? Well, Scrabble is here to help.

The Scotsman is reporting that Scrabble has added everything from slang to social media to the Collins Official Scrabble Words book.

Yep, that means you can now play such words as "grrl," "thang," "innit," "Facebook" and "MySpace." (We're totally blaming AT&T for this one.)

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ Trailer Teases Epic Finale

Warner Bros. on Wednesday released the official trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,' and by the looks of it, the franchise is poised to go out with a serious bang.

In this epic teaser, Harry's story comes to a close as he prepares for his final showdown with the evil Lord Voldemort, whose chilling and taunting voiceover plays throughout.

The trailer also highlights some pretty awesome-looking special effects, high-flying action sequences and a few sombre moments between Harry, Ron and Hermione.

MyPod: This Is Not America [VIDEO]

So, I was scanning thru my iPod over the weekend and came across this "Lost Classic." I loved watching this movie, which starred Sean Penn and Timothy Hutton. It's one of those intense movies that makes your brain hurt when it's over. But, it is just so good.

#1 This Week: Starship [VIDEO]

4/11/1987

This weeks' number one could actually be the theme song for this group who holds the top spot.

Originally the band was named Jefferson Airplane and formed out of the San Francisco, Ca area. Members of the group, at this time in 1967, included: Marty Balin & Grace Slick on vocals, Paul Kantner, Jack Kaukonen and  Jack Cassidy. Two of their biggest hits from the "Summer of Love" were "Somebody To Love" and "White Rabbit.

You may or may not know, I am a huge coffee drinker. I drink more than I probably should. But, if you are looking for a good "cup of joe," I thought I would share some of the places to get that cup that's good to the last drop.

Keep in mind that these are not put in any particular order, so one is not better than the other. They all rate pretty high in my book.

MyPod: Asia

With over 3,000 songs on my iPod, you would think it would be easy for me to choose what song/group to talk about every Tuesday. But, sometimes I go through so many songs in a week, it's hard for me to pick just one.

This week I thought we would take a look at a band that was considered a "super-group" in the eighties.
