Best Coffee in Amarillo — Rick’s Top Six
You may or may not know, I am a huge coffee drinker. I drink more than I probably should. But, if you are looking for a good “cup of joe,” I thought I would share some of the places to get that cup that’s good to the last drop.
Keep in mind that these are not put in any particular order, so one is not better than the other. They all rate pretty high in my book.
#1. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Starbucks
Starbucks: Normally I will get one of the “specialty drinks” here. It’s usually after a remote during the weekend that I will cruise through the drive-thru and order one kind of vente or another. Starbucks in Amarillo, for me, is more about the experience than the coffee, but I’ve never had a bad cup there. My favorite time of the year to go to Starbucks is as Christmas, when you can get the Pumpkin Vente. If you want to find the closest location in Amarillo then click here.
#2. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Macaroni Joe’s
Macaroni Joe’s: You can almost always find the entire Mix crew here after our two-day CMN Celebration in Amarillo. We all go out and have a big feast and unwind after an emotional radiothon. They serve some of the smoothest coffee I have EVER tasted. Plus, Mac Joe’s holds a special place, because it’s one of the rare times that the entire Mix staff has some quality time together, outside of the office. #3. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble: First off, I LOVE reading and I keep telling friends that, “If Barnes & Noble ever needs a book, they should call me, because I probably have it in my ‘library.” The cafe inside the bookstore is another “experience” type of thing. You can plop yourself down after ordering and read, chat with friends or use their free on-site Wi-Fi and work on your laptop. Now if you are someone that owns a Nook, then you also have free access to the Nook library while your there! Click here for the location of Barnes & Noble in Amarillo.
#4. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Donut Stop
Donut Stop: If you are up early in the morning and happening to be watching ProNews 7’s Daybreak and you see me inside your TV, you can bet this was my first stop in the morning. I will always swing by and get a “box of coffee” for Meredith and Brian and also pick up a dozen donuts for them to share with the staff. I arrive at Daybreak close to 6am and usually have about 20-30 minutes before my segment, so I dive into the coffee and have a cup or two. Believe me, at that time of the morning, I need it. #5. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Hastings Books & Video
Hastings: I like going to Hastings to get coffee for the same reason I like Barnes & Noble. You can sit down and read, while enjoying a nice cup. If I have some down time and I’m not at B&N, then you’ll probably find me here. Click here to find a Hastings location in Amarillo near you.
#6. Best Coffee In Amarillo – Townsquare Media
Work: Best cup of coffee in Amarillo? Ok, I will be completely honest with you on this one. It’s not the best cup of coffee I have ever had, but it’s free and since this is where I spend more than forty hours a week it’s convenient. I honestly don’t think our coffee machine had been cleaned in the four years I’ve been here, so the coffee has a bit of “character” to it. I never really thought about it, but my office is located the closest to the the coffee machine too. Coincidence? I don’t know.
So, these are some of my suggestions for a good cup of coffee.

Maybe we’ll bump into each other and share a cup of coffee.
