When it comes to our city and our area, we have some really great places to take out of town guests.  So when it comes to having out-of-town guests visit, here are some really awesome places in the area to take them to enjoy.

This is the largest history museum in Texas.  You an your guests can cover over 26,000 square miles on foot in just one day.  Plus you get to have fun while you are learning.  It is the one spot you definitely don't want to miss in the area.

Where else can you see a light house without an ocean?  The canyon is a great place to take visitors.  There is something for everyone.  Enjoy take a hike on the many trails in the canyon, schedule a horseback ride through the canyon, or just have a picnic with your family.  Plus, during the summer you can always catch the Musical Drama: Texas in the Pioneer Amphitheater, it's the theater with the canyon as the backdrop.  They even offer camping.  Plus, if you like a little adventure, you can always stop at Palo Duro Zip Lines located just down from the entrance of Palo Duro Canyon.

Admission to PDC: $5 per person, kids 12 and under are free.

If you are planning on camping in the canyon there is a additional fee.

Back in the seventies,  Stanley Marsh 3 (maybe you've heard of him) asked an art group called Ant Farm to come up with a art idea, they planted 10 Cadillacs into the ground with their tails sticking up.  It is a quirky sight to see.  However if you are planning on going, stock up on spray paint and have fun painting the cars.  Take your camera and grab some really great pictures.

Most locals don't regularly make their way out to the Big Texan however it is a awesome place to visit when you have guests in town.  Its awesome when you catch someone taking the 72oz Steak challenge, even better is when you or your guests try it.

There is just something amazing about walking down 6th street.  You can feel the history and it is just a interesting place in Amarillo.  Enjoy shopping in the unique boutiques as well as all the great antiques.  Plus the great food you can find in some of the best restaurants in town. Not only that the great live music playing on the weekends in several great locations on 6th Street.  Plus, it's the only place in Amarillo where you can find habañero gelato.
