The brilliant ladies of MTV's 'Teen Mom' may have met their match in Charlie Wilcox.

Wilcox, a British mother who smoked 3,500 cigarettes while pregnant, claims all that nicotine was actually healthy for her newborn daughter because it made the girl's heart work harder since it restricted her oxygen supply while in utero.

The girl, named Lilly, is now 14 weeks old.

While she had her bun in the oven, Wilcox, who stars in the British TV series 'Misbehaving Mums to Be,' defended her decision to light up by saying, "It's making the baby use its heart on its own in the first place, so that when it comes out, it's going to be able to do them (sic) things by itself. Where's the proof that it's so bad to smoke?"

Now that Lilly has arrived, Wilcox continues to stand by her decision. She said, "I wasn't ready to give up smoking. I think if I'd given up straightaway, the stress would have been more harmful to the baby."

And what would happen if she decided to retire her lighter and embrace a lifestyle of clean air? Wilcox said, "My mate gave up smoking and she miscarried at nine weeks, on the same day I gave birth to Lilly. Me and my friends think it's because she gave up smoking."
