It's Friday night you head into your favorite restaurant and the music is blaring. What do you order?

A new study found that loud music in restaurants makes us more likely to choose that greasy burger, nachos, or well you know that unhealthy option. It also shows we're more likely to order that salad or grilled chicken dish when the music isn't loud.

So it turns out the explanation is pretty simple. The soft music is calming, and louder music gets us amped up. Louder music even increases our heart rate. Turns out that can impact our decision-making.

So when you are trying to eat a bit healthier and you are heading into your favorite restaurant. If you find the music is loud maybe try sitting down and taking a deep breath to calm down and order that healthy meal.
