April 18, 2012 It warms my heart to hear and see wonderful things happen for children who are battling illness. Especially and illness that could kill them. Kye, a 7-year old battling leukemia had his wish to be Batman granted earlier in the month. The Arlington Police department stepped up and put together a "fake" bank robbery for the little boy.
March 14, 2012 My friend Robyn turned me onto this video. I'm telling you it starts a giggle fest (well it did in my 5-year old). Someone took Elmo and made a parody of LMFAO's I'm Sexy and I Know It, which isn't kid friendly. However, this video is something kids can enjoy.

When you have a toddler you have to keep an eye on them at all times. You keep tiny things out of reach because they are curious about everything and want to put things in their mouth. As a parent I was always scared of my toddler eating stuff he shouldn't, and I was always fearful of things like this story.
March 5, 2012 It is Girl Scout Cookie season and all over you see different troops in different locations selling their delicious cookies. However, a troop in Houston got a surprise when a man stopped and started asking about flavors. He then grabbed the girls cash box got into a black car with another guy and started driving off. Little did they know a couple of the Girl Scouts ran after them. One girl punched one guy over and over through the window and the other grabbed onto the door handle and would let go. Even though the thieves still got away with the money. I call these girls the heroes of the day.
February 29, 2012 I have seen several posts from friends on facebook in the last few days about a drug called Strawberry Quik. It is said to resemble Pop Rocks candy and is a flavored form of crystal meth. As I have been reading the warnings, it dawned on me that this isn't the first time I have heard about this drug.
February 29, 2012 I cannot go one day with out some form of Spongebob in my life. When Ethan gets up in the morning part of his morning routine involves Spongebob. He watches Spongebob when he gets dressed and by letting him watch it he gets dressed. We have Spongebob sheets, pillows, dolls, DVDs, and even a nightlight. I have seen the Spongebob Squarepants Movie a gazillion times. So for those parents who are inundated with Spongebob on a daily basis here is the 411 on the new Spongebob Movie coming to theaters in 2014.
February 28, 2012 Stan and Jan Berenstain created a series of children's books called the Berenstain Bears back in 1962. Their first book published was the The Big Honey Hunt.
Odds are over the last 50 years you, your parents, and your children have all read a Berenstain Bear Book. Stan Berenstain passed away in 2005 at the age of 82 and his wife followed him in death on Friday at the age of 88 after suffering a massive stroke.

February 17, 2012 Remember the old story your parents used to tell you about how they had to walk 10 miles in the snow uphill and downhill just to get to school. Well we all know that was probably not true it was more like 2 miles, but hey who is counting. Apparently, a mother in Jonesboro, AR, punished her child by making him walk 4.5 miles to school. The mother was given a citation and now faces one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
