Forensic Sculptor Amanda Danning Coming to the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum

I love to watch all the forensic shows on TV.  From CSI to NCIS to Bones.  I love watching the character Angela on Bones reconstruct someone's face from just bones and bone pieces on her trusty awesomely advance computer.  Now I know most of that is created for TV however, I still find it interesting.  That's why  I'm excited to tell you that the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum has a really awesome guest coming next week,  Amanda Danning.

Kids Do the Darndest Things – The Woes of Technology

This week, the big theme in our house has been focused on technology. Specifically, how it should *not* be used. My children have iPod's and/or tablet devices. There are rules. They can't download apps (or anything else) without asking. They can't connect via e-mail, text, Facetime, or anything else, without asking. They can't set up their own accounts for anything. They can't purchase anything. They can't use these devices after "lights out." They can't take these devices to school. And, they've all been warned we will routinely check their devices, their browsing history, their e-mail, and whatever else we see fit, without notice.

4 Dead, 16 Injured in Fort Hood Shooting

Four people, including the gunman, were killed and 16 others injured in a shooting at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas Wednesday evening.  Fort Hood officials said the gunman was a soldier who had been receiving mental health treatment and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
