The new decade came roaring in like a tropical storm. Everything from a new President to an iconic movie reveal and one of the greatest cliff-hangers in television history. Check out what happened in 1980!

Every Friday Night at 5pm I count down the 10 Biggest hits from the week, spotlighting a specific year in the 1980s. It's amazing to see and hear how music styles have changed over the years, but the one constant is, 'a great song transcends time.'

We ended up spotlighting 1988 this week at 5pm for our Top 10 Countdown.   Trivia: Do you know the major event that happened in Music History this week?

Over the weekend I spent some time watching some classic VH1 'Behind The Music' Episodes. One of my favorites was about Daryl Hall & John Oates.

So my good friend, Tommy the Hacker, from our sister station 96.9 KISS-FM is doing a weekly 'lip sync' battle with various people in the Panhandle. Last week he challenged Meredith Keller and Anthony Pittman from Pro News 7's 'Daybreak.'

I have always been fascinated with how you can tie a bunch of songs together with a common theme. It could be 'Songs with female names in the title,' 'Songs about Space,' etc. I figured I'd put together a little list of tunes that will keep you 'cold' on this Winter day. Or, if you prefer, songs that you can 'chill' by.

The British Group T'Pau formed in 1986 and featured lead vocals from Carol Decker. T'Pau had much more success in the U.K. then in the United States. Their Debut album spawned five hit singles across the pond, but here in the states they were 'one and done.'

The song begins with a very strong bass line and the lyrics:   Steve walks warily down the street, with the brim pulled way down low   I'll show you the video below his page but, without scrolling to the end, can you guess what song I'm talking about? Don't worry, I have five clues to help you out.

Donnie Iris was born Dominic Ierace in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Before going solo he was a member of The Jaggerz, who had chart success in 1970 with 'The Rapper' (#2).

My "Lost Classic" this week comes from Howard Jones. Back in the day he was nicknamed "Ho-Jo."

There are two songs that, off the top of my head, will make me stop everything I'm doing and listen. I guess you could also call these my "Guilty Pleasure Songs." Hmmmmmm, I might have to make that subject a blog unto itself, at some point.

Today's "Lost Classic" is a British rock group, which featured Paul Roberts on vocals and Loz Netto on guitar. This one-hit wonder came off their album, "Fickle Heart."
