Mommy Blogger Jess C. – Daddy Can Take Care of The Kids

This past weekend I went with a friend to Austin and left my 6 children in the capable hands of my husband.  My friend and I went to investigate a school she was possibly wanting to attend.   We also went to a couple of restaurants, floated on a river, ate from a food truck and even went for ice cream. We had a good time, and during the time away I trusted my husband and my children to tend to the household while I was away.

Mommy Blogger April B. – “Super-duper-fantastical-end-of-summer-not-a-bummer-week-of-fun.”

So this happened this week: While riding in the car, a Hyundai commercial played on the radio. To which my 6-year-old daughter asked, "Which day of the week is Hyundai? I never heard of it before!"

Mommy Blogger Jess C. – Gas Prices

I have found the gas prices in Amarillo are quite a shock at times.  From one day to another it seems that the two main companies seem to compete but in the wrong direction.  When I travel I find that Amarillo has some of the highest gas prices in the area and sometimes for hours upon hours of driving.  Again this is a shock.  What makes Amarillo have to have such an increase in fuel costs?

Mommy Blogger April B. – Fly Swappers

We bought some new fly swappers this week. The flies are maddening right now. Thus, the need for additional fly swappers. Seems my kids have a knack for swapping flies and they love to do it. More fly swappers were required to end the feuding over who gets to be the insect executioner.

Mommy Blogger Robyn L. – Back to School Tips From a Teacher

I saw a commercial where a mom sat in a silent house and said "This is what September sounds like." Yep. It's that time. Teachers and students are getting ready to go back to school. And while September doesn't sound anything like a quiet house to me, I am getting excited to start another school year. With the beginning of a new year in mind, I wanted to share some thoughts from a teacher to a parent.

Mommy Blogger Jess C. – Returning to the Workforce

Monday I went into a business and filled out an application.  That was the first time doing that in over 2 years,  and  boy was it weird.

Mommy Blogger April B. – Now I Understand Why My Parents Didn’t Buy Me the Fancy School Supplies

Now that August has arrived, it's back to back-to-school shopping. When I was a kid, it was all about having the coolest Trapper Keeper. The Trapper Keeper was the iPhone of the 80's preteen. It held folders and paper and it had a clipboard and you could even stuff photos inside the plastic cover. I vividly remember ogling the Lisa Frank designed Trapper Keepers and begging my mom to spend the $5 on one. I actually had this one.

Mommy Blogger Robyn L – Parenting and Childing

Today's blog is not so much about being a parent as it is about being a child. Or a grandchild. The way you are a child to your parents, though, can be an example to your children.

Mommy Blogger April B. – Kids Love Chicken Nuggets. It’s, Like, a Law or Something.

So, this conversation happened this week:

Oldest Daughter: "I don't like chicken nuggets."
Me: "Yes, you do."
Oldest Daughter: "No, I don't."
Me: "Yes, you do. You've never once said you don't like them"
Oldest Daughter: "Yes, I have! I only like the other kind."

Mommy Blogger April B. – What a Difference a Laugh Can Make

It's been one of those weeks. I seem to have a lot of those weeks, lately. And, as I walked out of the house totally annoyed and overwhelmed and feeling pulled in 15 directions, I rolled my eyes, hearing the familiar tone signalling an incoming text. What now?! I glanced at my phone, saw this meme, stopped in my tracks, snorted and then laughed like a hyena.

Mommy Blogger April B. – Moons Over Milk

It seems like I've written this exact line 105 times. Boys are a whole 'nother animal.

After I wrote just two short weeks ago about raising a husband, it seems I've got a long road to go before my little man resembles a gentleman, or from the way things are going this week, even a human. My sweet little boy has a new afternoon teacher at his daycare center and, from what I can glean, he's really breaking her in.
