Tim Hockenberry Delivers Standout Version of ‘You Are So Beautiful’ on ‘America’s Got Talent’
The new season of ‘America’s Got Talent‘ is merely two days old and it’s already making a splash, from the critical raves Howard Stern earned as a judge to some of the actual talent America is showcasing on the boob tube. One of last night’s (May 15) standouts was Tim Hockenberry, a middle-aged gent from upstate New York who delivered a gritty and emotionally impactful rendition of Joe Cocker’s ‘You Are So Beautiful.’ It was, in a word, beautiful.

Elise Testone was finally eliminated from Season 11 of ‘American Idol‘ tonight (April 26). We say “finally” not because we did not enjoy her smoky, husky voice or her offbeat, edgy and rock ‘n’ roll song choices throughout the course of the season, but because the singer has been camped out in the bottom of the voting multiple times. The odds seemed to indicate that she would eventually be voted off since she set up residence in the lower tier more often than not.

‘American Idol’ Recap: Top 8 Tackle the ’80s
On tonight’s episode of ‘American Idol,’ the Top 8 tackled the ’80s. While the ’80s is a fun decade, full of excess and larger-than-life-ness, the Idols focused on the ballad side of the spectrum. Again, it was a little snoozy, with slow song after slow song. The producers wisely paired the contestants up for duets that were sprinkled throughout the individual perfs, to add some life and livelihood to the proceedings.
