One of the great things about 'Pop' radio, aka 'Top 40,' is that the music chart showed such a huge diversity this week in 1984. You can find a little bit of everything; rock, soft rock, pop and dance. Some of Radio royalty for the year were; Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Madonna and Duran Duran.

I mentioned this on the air the other day, but figured I would put all three songs together to see if you agree with me or not. One thing about me, if you don't already know, is that I have so many songs running through my head at any moment in time.

Happy Birthday to the 'King of the Soundtracks' Kenny Loggins. Loggins was born in Everett, Washington on January 7, 1948 and is the cousin of another famous singer, Dave Loggins ('Please Come To Boston').

Hairbands, also called Glam metal, started to hit the music scene in a big way in the early part of the 80's. If you were in a hairband and wanted to get noticed then you packed up your axe, skins and hairspray and headed west to become part of the L.A. Sunset Strip music scene.

I don't know what it is, but this made me a little bit happier this morning. Someone took the Pointer Sisters "Neutron Dance" and put together a montage of a bunch of people dancing in movies. It's pretty awesome.

I have always been fascinated with how you can tie a bunch of songs together with a common theme. It could be 'Songs with female names in the title,' 'Songs about Space,' etc. I figured I'd put together a little list of tunes that will keep you 'cold' on this Winter day. Or, if you prefer, songs that you can 'chill' by.

Los Angeles has a lot to celebrate in the first month of the new year. They are reopening The Forum and the Eagles will be doing six shows there this month. What's even more amazing is what Pop2Life has created to sit on top of the venue.

Congratulations, sort of, to Bruno Mars who was crowned the most pirated musician of the past year. According to information released recently by Musicmetric, Bruno's tunes were downloaded 5.8 million times.
