Don't ask us to tell grizzled, scruffy men apart, because chances are we'll just assume (or rather hope) they're Tom Waits. Sorry, occasional Tom Waits look-alike Ted Dykstra.

Tom Waits is a singer-songwriter and actor who's easily identified by his unique voice, which a critic once described as sounding "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car." (Fun fact: In 2008, Scarlett Johansson released an album of Tom Waits covers.)

In addition to music, he's acted in Francis Ford Coppola's 'Dracula,' and had roles in 'Seven Psychopaths,' 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,' and the fantastic indie-film 'Wristcutters: A Love Story.'

Actor Ted Dykstra first blipped on our radar while we perused Eli Roth's made-for-Netflix horror series 'Hemlock Grove' -- where we mistook the deranged, screaming lunatic for Mr. Waits. Dykstra hasn't been in much else we've seen, but fans of Bryan Fuller and 'Wonderfalls' may know him as the voice of the muse.
