Kimbrough Memorial Stadium, originally known as Buffalo Bowl, was first opened in 1959.  The name was changed in 1971 in honor of former West Texas State University football couch Frank Kimbrough.  Over the years many high school and WTAMU football games have been won and lost.  Many concerts have been performed, and many half time shows have been marched.  A lot of memories have been made in that stadium.  Do you have a great memory of Kimbrough Memorial Stadium?  If you do then the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum needs your help as they remember Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.

If you have a great memory of Kimbrough and you have captured it in a photo then the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum would love you to share those photos.  The PPHM will have an exhibit during the WTAMU Homecoming Week focusing on Kimbrough Memorial Stadium and your photo could be a part of that exhibit.  Any memory you have whether it be that winning touchdown, or that awesome shot of you marching on the field, or you and your buddies painted maroon and cheering in the stands they want to see it.  The photo could be that special proposal that was caught on camera, or some 4th of July fun.    The stadium has been around since 1959 and I'm sure it has been captured in countless photographs over the years.

This is open to anyone and the photos will not be judged.  However the PPHM does reserve the right not to hand any photos they deem inappropriate.  Photos should not be bigger than 8x10 or smaller than 4x6.  Photos submitted need to be of Kimbrough Memorial Stadium or taken at the stadium.

You can submit photos by email in a .jpeg format and make sure to include Kimbrough in the subject line.

or you can deliver your photos to the museum, or if you choose you can mail them as well.
