Latest word from TxDot on our road conditions:

I-40 westbound from exit 64 to the NM state line remains closed due to drifting on the roadway. Crews are plowing, and it is hoped to have the roadway opened late this morning. Time yet to be determined.

Hollywood Road west of Soncy is now open.

All remaining major roadways in the panhandle are open, but be alert for drifting. Most driving lanes are fairly clear, but passing lanes are not. Low-clearance vehicles may have difficulty until crews can clear the drifts. Secondary FM and RM roads are snow-covered and will not be cleared until the main roadways are cleared.

TxDOT has had all available crews and trucks out plowing and sanding since late afternoon yesterday.

I really like listening to your show at night. I was wondering if you would could play something for my kids. They are the light of my life. We are apart right now but I still want them to know that I think of them always and I love them. They have showed this mom what it means to feel love.

EASY CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS

1 lb chicken (boiled, and cut into bite size pieces, I usually just boil chicken breasts)
1 box chicken broth
1 stick butter
3 or 4 cans biscuits (any brand)

Boil chicken in chicken broth, keep broth removed chicken and cut up. Add 1 stick of butter and cut up chicken pieces to broth. Bring to a boil and add biscuits. Pinch biscuits off in bite size pieces and drop into boiling broth. DO NOT COVER. Boil until dumplings (biscuits) stop floating on top. Cook 15-20 minutes on medium heat. Salt/pepper to taste. I sometimes add a little milk for flavor

I think we all might be a little less inclined to dine out if we knew what we were putting in our bodies. I don’t believe school lunches are any better for our kids. I send my kids with a sack lunch everyday–I want to know what they are putting in their little bodies.
