The Disney Channel is set to produce 'Descendants,' a brand-new, live-action movie about the offspring of classic Disney villains. Say whaaat?

OK, so here's the premise: Belle and the Beast's son is set to inherit the throne, and his first order of duty is to give the teenage kids of Disney villains (the likes of Cruella de Vil, Maleficient, Jafar and the Evil Queen) a second chance to live alongside the kids of the heroes and heroines, which include Sleeping Beauty, Mulan and the Fairy Godmother. The villains have been banished to a remote island, where they are jailed amongst all of the "bad guys" of Disney fame -- stepsisters, stepmothers, and sidekicks included. But as their children are given a second chance, the teens are now faced with a difficult decision: Do they fulfill their parents' evil desires or attempt to live harmoniously with all of the "good guys?"

While the plot does sound pretty similar to 'Monster High,' 'Descendants' has two uniquely promising features: The film will be directed by Kenny Ortega, the brains behind Disney classics like 'High School Musical' and 'Hocus Pocus,' and the script was written by the writers of 'The Starter Wife' and 'Runaway Bride.'

PopCrushers, how do you feel about the 'Descendants' movie? Will you watch it?
