A trial that started 6 weeks ago has ended.  The jury signaled about 1pm today that they had come to a decision in the Dr. Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter trial.   Family, friends, and fans of Michael Jackson finally have closure.  The verdict against Dr. Conrad Murray in the case of involuntary manslaughter has finally come to a close and the doctor was found guilty.

The 11 person jury found that Dr. Conrad Murray was criminally negligent in his use of the surgical anesthetic propofol to treat Jackson's insomnia.

Dr. Murray faces up to 4 years in prison and will  lose his medical license for his role in the death of Michael Jackson.   It is likely that Dr. Conrad Murray will spend his sentence under house arrest.

Katherine and Joe Jackson were present when the verdict was read along with Jermaine, Randy and LaToya and other family members.  Janet Jackson was not present.

 

UPDATE: Dr. Murray will be remanded into custody without bail until sentencing.  Dr. Murray will be sentenced on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:30am central time.
