A whopping 40% of people either called in sick today or was late. Hopefully you were not one of them. You should be applauded for being such a great worker!

Maybe you had a bit too much to eat and drink last night. Maybe you are still in a food coma. After Thanksgiving; Superbowl Sunday is the day that most people overeat. Oh and there are such great foods to partake in. Wings, pizza, chips and dip, the list can go on and on.

Here are a few ways to bounce back after all the fun you had yesterday. If you haven't already thought of them. You should hold on to this list for next year too. It will happen again. Am I correct?

You should get rid of all of your leftovers. If you hosted the party good for you. You ended up with a lot of food at your house. If you get rid of all the stuff left at your house you will not run the risk of having one day of bad eating turning into two or three.

Do not skip breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day after all. It is the fuel that gets our day started. So with that in mind go for something hearty and healthy like eggs, which have vitamin D and are a good source of protein. Throw in whole grain bread and even a healthy fat like a yummy avocado. Or go for a veggie omelet....that will work too.

When you first get up you should drink water. Oh and drink plenty of it throughout the day. Hydration is very important here...especially if you over-indulged a bit yesterday. Avoid citrus juices like orange juice, the acid could mess with your stomach. Be leery of coffee without too much cream and sugar, it is OK to drink but it can cause you some heartburn.

Make and extra effort to have a light lunch and incorporate some extra veggies and fruit into your diet. Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and cabbage can actually help you detox. So load up on them. Antioxidants found is strawberries could help you repair some of the damage you encountered from alcoholic drinks.

So yes, it was just one day out of the year.....so you can recover pretty quick. Just heed some of these tips and be on your way back to your optimum health
