While we patiently await the trailer for Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium' (tomorrow, right here, at 7pm EST) we've got the first official 'Elysium' poster to tide us over. Someone should tell Matt Damon he's got something on his back.

We are so, so very excited for Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium,' the long-awaited and highly-anticipated follow-up to his first film, 'District 9.' It's hard to believe it's been four years since Blomkamp's amazing sci-fi debut, and now we're finally getting another taste of the director's exciting vision with 'Elysium' and this new poster.

The film takes place in 2159, where the population of the world is divided into two camps: a group of wealthy people who live on a man-made space station called Elysium, and the not-so-lucky 99% who live on Earth, which has become an overpopulated and insufferable wasteland. The poor people of Earth attempt to join the shiny space utopia by any means they can, much to the chagrin of a zealous government official played by Jodie Foster. Enter Matt Damon's character, Max, who unwittingly finds himself involved in a mission that could save his life and bring the two worlds together again.

This new poster features Matt Damon's back, covered in some sort of high-tech gadgetry -- we don't know what it is, but we look forward to getting a few answers soon when the trailer officially hits the web.
