Palo Duro Canyon is such a treasure to have in our area.  It is so beautiful and fun to visit.  Plus, they are always hosting fun activities.  Coming up this Saturday, you have the opportunity to experience the Canyon in two very different ways, on foot or in a vehicle.

Canyon Driving Tour

PDC will take you on a journey throughout the Canyon to learn about the different flora, geology, fauna and of course the history of PDC.

The event will take place at 10am this Saturday, January 7th.  It is limited to the first 14 people.  A sign up sheet for the event is located at the gatehouse.  Children are eligible for the tour but must be old enough to ride in a van without a child safety seat.

Those attending should meet at the gatehouse and look for the PDC big white van which will be parked out front.

Lower Commanche Trail Hike

Make plans to attending this 1.5 mile hike on Saturday, January 7th at 2pm.  The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours.  You'll learn about the history of the canyon as well as the flora, fauna and geology.

Please dress for the weather and wear good hiking shoes or boots.  Bring plenty of water for you and your crew.  You are allowed to bring pets but they must be on a leash.

The meeting place for the hike will be in the Mack Dick Group Pavilion parking lot.  The hike will end at the Hackberry Campsite.  You can hike back or ride with the ranger after the hike has ended.
