Famous People From the State of Maine – Three Whom I’ve Met, Three Whom I Haven’t
Most people know of Maine because of writer Stephen King. But we do have some other famous people who came from my home state.
I was watching ‘Criminal Minds’ last night and one of the actresses looked familiar – just like one of the people on one of the other shows I watch – ‘Continuum.’ I looked her up, and found out she’s from Maine! It got me thinking, who else is from Maine? Check out my list!
Stephen King – I actually worked for him when he owned a radio station in Bangor. (He still owns stations there.) I met him a few times. He’s a cool dude.
Andrea Martin – A former co-worker of mine used to date a friend of mine, before she went on to star on SCTV.
Judd Nelson – I went to school with Judd Nelson. If you don’t know, he was part of the ‘Brat Pack’ – you know, the cool guy from the Breakfast Club.
Patrick Dempsey – There was Grey’s Anatomy, but I think he was also in a movie called ‘Can’t By Me Love.’ (Editor’s note: He was.) I’ve never met Dempsey. And he never returns my stalking emails.
John Ford – Ford directed classic films like ‘The Searchers’ and ‘Grapes of Wrath.’ I have never met him.
Rachel Nichols – If you don’t know who she is, she was on ‘Criminal Minds’ and is currently on the sci fi show ‘Continuum.’ OH! And she was the green chick in Kirk’s bed in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot.
