The Amarillo Zoo has team up with the Amarillo Office of Emergency Management and they have created a day to teach kids about being safe.

The event will take place at the Amarillo Zoo, on Saturday, September 26th, from 9:30am - 3pm.

Some of the activities include:

  • Kids ID kits provided by the Potter County Sheriff’s Office
  • Fire and Smoke Safety House by the Amarillo Fire Department
  • Immunizations by the Department of Health Mobil Immunization Program
  • Peek inside a squad car with the Amarillo Police Department
  • Amarillo Red Cross
  • Atmos Energy
  • Amarillo/Potter/Randall County Office of Emergency Management
  • Look inside an ambulance with the Amarillo Medical Services
  • Animal Safety with Texas Department of State Health Services – Zoonosis Control Branch
  • Potter-Randall 9-1-1 ECD
  • National Weather Service
  • Lake Meredith National Recreation Area & Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument
  • Buckner Adoption and Maternity Services of Amarillo
  • Children’s Craft Tent
  • Live Music with Andy Chase Cundiff
  • Venomous insect and spider exhibit

Cost for the event is admission to the Amarillo Zoo:

Adult (13-61)  $4
Senior (62 and up) $3
Children (3-12) $2
