Coming up this Saturday, from 9a-1p, the Boy Scouts will be doing their annual Scouting for Food.  This day for me is like Halloween in March.  Only you won't find goblins, pumpkins or ghouls.    You will only find nice young men in uniform collecting non-perishable foods for the High Plains Food Bank.

How do you get involved, it doesn't matter what town you are in here in the Texas Panhandle, as long as you have Boy Scouts in your town you can get involved.

Just leave a bag of non-perishable food items in a bag on your front porch.  Those items can include Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruits, Canned Meats, Peanut Butter in Plastic Containers, Rice and Pinto Beans – Nothing Frozen or in Glass Containers.

If a Scout does not come to your door, donations can be brought to any United Supermarkets in the Amarillo and Canyon area where you can place your items.

Also, whatever county the food is collected in, it will stay in that area.

So make plans to leave a bag and help out the Boy Scouts and the High Plains Food Bank
