If you thought Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights was bad, but you tolerated it just because you wanted to see Patrick Swayze in a cameo appearance, get ready because Hollywood is remaking Dirty Dancing.  Insert the BIG sigh here.

I am having a hard time with Hollywood remaking my favorite movies.  I am still not looking forward to the Footloose remake.   Yes we all loved Dirty Dancing.  It was the romantic love story of our childhood.  Why would they mess with it?  Why now?  The one person everyone would love to see in it has passed on, so really they are going to try to create a new Johnny that isn't Patrick?  No one can compete with Patrick Swayze's "Nobody puts Baby in the corner," (my heart just melted at the memory).

According to the AP News:

Lionsgate says it is remaking the 1987 film that starred Jennifer Grey as a naive dance student and Patrick Swayze as her teacher and lover.

The studio said Monday that Kenny Ortega, who choreographed the original film, will direct the remake.

Do I look at this as something that could be really great and an opening for this generation to enjoy the story of Johnny and Baby?  Not really.  I had high hopes for the Footloose remake and then I saw the trailer.

I need to stop being negative, who knows maybe this could be an Academy Award winning remake?

Unfortunately, it makes me sad that the one person who could make this movie awesome won't be able to make an appearance.

So in honor of on of the greatest movies enjoy
