The City of Amarillo’s Public Health department recognizes August as National Immunization Awareness Month to highlight the importance of vaccinations for people of all ages.  The Public Health Department gives out many low-cost or free immunization shots to people with Medicaid, people with no insurance, and under-insured people.  Just show up to the Public Health Department Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.  Walk-ins are always welcomed.  You won't be turned down.

Bring your current immunization record (whether for your kids or yourself) if possible.

Vaccines available as supplies allow include Pneumococcal (pneumonia), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough), HPV (human papillomavirus), Flu, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), Polio, HIB (Haemophilus Influenzae Type b), Rotavirus, Varicella (chickenpox), Td (tetanus and diphtheria), Twinrix (Hep A/B combo), Meningitis, and Zoster (shingles).
