'Glee' won't be the same without Cory Monteith -- not for the fans, not for the crew and certainly not for the cast.

The cast braced themselves for a possibly painful return to the Fox hit's set following Monteith's untimely passing. Though there's still a lot of sadness, the group are tight knit and getting back to work.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Radio (via Handbag.com), Colfer said everyone is trying to remain strong in the face of the shocking loss they're facing.

"I know we've always come together -- always -- in the past, because we are such a family in the cast and the crew," Colfer said.

He added, "I'm assuming things will be very different, and I'm sure they'll be difficult at first. But … we'll see. I think I'm positive."

Meanwhile, a source told E! News (via EntertainmentWise) yesterday (Aug. 5), "Today was first day back. Last week was rehearsals but today was first official day of production on new season. Everything went as well as it could have. Very emotional but everyone is starting to move forward. Getting back on track."

Another source quipped, "It was business as usual."

Show writer, director and producer Brad Falchuk posted the following:

Meanwhile, Monteith's on and offscreen love, Lea Michele, voiced her enthusiasm over a song she recorded for the show.

Our thoughts remain with Monteith and his loved ones at the time.
