While 'Dexter's early final season premiere has given way to all manner of new spoilers and teasers, 'Homeland' season 3 has kept relatively quiet in the last few months, set to premiere its newest run on September 29. Showtime will likely guard spoilers like state secrets, but how would you like to learn how 'Homeland' season 3 picks up after season 2 finale "The Choice?" Get the latest 'Homeland' intel inside!

We'll have to wait a bit longer for 'Homeland' season 3 than new episodes of 'Dexter' this year, but Showtime has nonetheless given us our first taste of the upcoming season via a new press release. Picking up after the explosive climax of 'Homeland' season 2, season 3 will very much pick up with the surrounding firestorm created by the devastating explosion that killed several beloved characters.

Homeland Season 3 opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist – Nick Brody (Damian Lewis). As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.

Thus far, we know that in season 3 of 'Homeland' David Marciano (Virgil) and Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) are stepping down as series regulars to take reduced roles, while Morena Baccarin will reprise her series regular role as Jessica Brody, in spite of her husband’s wrongly accused absence. Series regulars David Harewood, Jamie Sheridan and Navid Negahban are exiting the series as well, given their characters’ fates.

In addition, ‘Homeland’ producer Howard Gordon earlier confirmed that Damian Lewis (Brody) would return despite his character’s predicament, stating at the TCA press tour, “He’s alive so of course he’ll be back. One of the great challenges of next [season] is how he’ll be back. But there’s no doubt that he will be back.” According to Deadline, credible rumors suggest that Brody may appear in Venezuela at the outset of ‘Homeland’ season 3.

Well, what say you? Will 'Homeland' season 3 prove every bit as riveting as the first two, now that it's moved on to a new focus? Where would you like to see the September 29 premiere pick up?
