Toast is one of the simplest, yet satisfying foods out there.

It's a little crazy how a plain piece of bread is not tempting, but a slightly burnt, crispier piece of bread is irresistible. It calms upset stomachs, pairs well with any breakfast beverage, cures the common cold, and allows you to eat an entire meal for very little cost.

However, the same old piece of toast with butter can get monotonous. Even if you throw some cinnamon sugar on it, toast can get bland.

Here are some recipes to help you enjoy toast the way it should be enjoyed.

  • Avocado Scramble Toast

    Ingredients:

    • 1 avocado
    • 1 egg
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Red pepper flakes
    • 1-2 slices of bread
    • Shredded cheese (optional)

    Instructions:

    • First, toast the bread in an average toaster.
    • Cook egg to preference. (works best with scrambled eggs)
    • Mash avocado. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
    • Mix eggs and avocado. Spread over toast. Sprinkle with cheese if you desire. (If you prefer your eggs fried, put egg on toast, sprinkle with cheese, then spread avocado mash on top)
  • Peanut Butter and Banana Toast

    Ingredients:

    • 1 banana
    • 1-2 slices of bread
    • Peanut butter
    • Honey

    Instructions:

    • Toast bread.
    • Spread preferred amount of peanut butter on toast.
    • Slice up banana. Distribute on top of peanut butter.
    • Drizzle with honey.
  • Cream Cheese and Blueberry Toast

    Ingredients:

    • 1-2 slices of bread
    • Handful of fresh blueberries
    • Whipped cream cheese
    • Honey

    Instructions:

    • Toast bread.
    • Spread cream cheese on toast. (If you are using regular cream cheese, allow it to soften first)
    • Sprinkle blueberries on top of the cream cheese.
    • Drizzle with honey.
  • Ultimate Breakfast Toast

    Ingredients:

    • 1 egg
    • 2-4 slices of bacon, sausage, turkey, or ham
    • 1/2 cup frozen hashbrowns
    • Small handful of spinach
    • 1/3 cup shredded cheese
    • 1-2 slices of bread
    • Salt
    • Pepper

    Instructions:

    • Place frozen hashbrowns in a skillet with olive oil. Cook completely, then set aside.
    • Prepare egg according to preference. (fried egg is best) Season with salt and pepper.
    • Cook bacon or sausage according to instructions. If you are using turkey or ham, heat them in a skillet for about 30 seconds on both sides.
    • Saute spinach in olive oil.
    • Toast bread.
    • Place meat, hashbrowns, egg, and spinach on toast. Sprinkle with cheese and add additional seasonings if you desire.
  • Strawberry Nutella Toast

    Ingredients:

    • 1-2 slices of bread
    • Handful of fresh, sliced strawberries
    • Nutella

    Instructions:

    • Toast bread.
    • Spread desired amount of Nutella on toast.
    • Add sliced strawberries.
