Last night around 9:30pm,  I had finally gotten Ethan in bed and calmed down. I sat down and grabbed my book and was about to open it when I heard the music.  Yes, the music, "Pop Goes the Weasel," then a few seconds later my son comes running down the hallway, "Momma, the ice cream man."  Ugh!  Seriously!

Don't get me wrong, the ice cream man can be cool!  Personally, I find them a little creepy selling ice cream to children out of their creepy vans, and they do look a little scary, but hey that is just my opinion.  However, 9:30pm at nigh, in the dark?  I don't find a need for an ice cream truck or van or whatever, to be coming down my street at 9:30pm at night on a Monday.  I live on a block where most of the kids are under 10 years of age.  I am assuming, and yes I know what they say about assuming, that most responsible parents have their children in the house by 9:30pm especially since it is dark outside. I find it hard to believe that they would allow their child to go outside in the dark, and in their pj's to buy ice cream (over priced ice cream at that), from the creepy ice cream van.  Then again I could be wrong.

I understand that these fine ice cream folks are trying to make a living, but they are helping to make my life a nightmare especially after fighting for half an hour to get my child unwound and in bed.  Plus, having to explain why he cannot have ice cream at 9:30pm at night.

Hey Mr. Ice Cream man could you please drive down the street at a decent hour, say right after dinner.  Who knows, you just might make a sell?
