If You Want Something To Stay A Secret, Don’t Tell Her

A Daily Mail survey of over 3,000 women reveals that the average woman can only keep a secret for 47 hours. Read on for other findings.  - 40% of women say they are unable to keep a secret no matter how personal or confidential

- the average woman hears three pieces of gossip each week, and will pass it on to at least one other person.

- 50% of women reveal a secret to 'simply get it off their chest'.

- 40% of women think it is acceptable to share a friend's secret with someone who does not know them

- 40% of women say their their husband is their ultimate confidante.

So why do women tell secrets? One word:  Alcohol.  More than half the women who were surveyed say they get chatty when alcohol is involved.  Best friends and/or mothers were often the main recipients of the secret.
