The Don Harrington Discovery Center is a great place to take the family.  In fact, the DHDC has been a part of this community for 40 years.  This year they are celebrating their 40th Anniversary.  Not only is it a great learning environment, it's a fun place to play and have a great time while learning.  Not only do they have their permanent exhibits, the Discovery Center always has different exhibits throughout the year and this season's exhibit is really gross.  It will bring out your inner 9-year old boy.  It's called Grossology.

WHAT: GROSSOLOGY: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body

WHEN: Starting Saturday, January 30th through May15th.

GROSSOLOGY is based on the best-selling book series Grossology by Sylvia Branzei.

Our bodies do the strangest things and a lot of time they aren't pleasant.  It's actually gross.  I mean seriously, boogers are gross.  The sounds that come out of our body are gross.  I mean sometimes they are funny, but most of the time, they are stinky and smelly.  Why do our bodies make these gross things?  Well, the Discovery Center has the answers.

Bring the family out to experience this gross science.  The exhibit will feature animatronics and very creative exhibits that will show you the good, the bad and the gross of the human body.

Learn about why we have runny noses.  Why does our body stink?

Take a "Tour du Nose" and explore the different features of our nose.  How we smell, how our snot works, why we have boogers.

Of course the kids will learn the art of the fart (yeah I made that one up), they can play a fun pinball game called "Gas Attack."  Not only that, they get to learn with the "Burp Machine," the learning ends with a giant burp.  I know you can hear the giggles now.  Plus, there will be a giant replica of human skin (yes, human skin), that comes with warts, pimples, and wounds.

Other fun areas include:

The Vomit Center
Urine: The Game
Look Inside and more.

Not only can you learn about the grossness of the body, you'll also learn about how to keep your body healthy.

Want to learn more take a tour here.

Make sure you make plans to attend this awesome exhibit before it's gone.
