Separated spouses Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez are to perform at the 2011 American Music Awards this weekend. But don’t expect them to take the stage together — unless there’s a dramatic surprise in the works.

Anthony was already slated to sing on the show with Pitbull and Lil Jon. E! Online reports that Lopez has been added to the performance lineup as well. We wonder how tense the atmosphere will be if Lopez or Anthony brings a new love interest to the event. At least J. Lo isn’t competing against her husband in the Favorite Latin Artist category. Instead, she is nominated against Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias.

THR says that New Artist of the Year nominees Hot Chelle Rae will also be rocking out on the show. Previously announced performers include Nicki Minaj and David Guetta, who are opening the shindig, along with Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO, Katy Perry and Maroon 5.

Fan voting has now closed for the 2011 AMAs, except for the New Artist category. The show airs on ABC on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 8PM EST.
