Michael Jackson had millions of fans and supporters during his lifetime, but arguably the most ardent and vocal defender of the superstar since his death in 2009 has been older sibling Jermaine Jackson.

He continues to uphold the late King of Pop’s legacy and paint a favorable picture of him, both verbally and in his recently released book, ‘You Are Not Alone, Michael: Through a Brother’s Eyes.’

“When I started to write it, I read stuff about Michael, and I couldn’t believe the lies written and the false allegations,” Jermaine tells HuffPost Celebrity. “I want people to realize he was a human being. He didn’t deserve the things that were spread about him. But at the same time, he was the biggest entertainer out there.”

In ‘You Are Not Alone, Michael’ (published by Touchstone, a division of Simon & Schuster), Jermaine covers the ups and downs of his brother’s entire life and career. That includes their days together in the Jackson 5 as well as Michael’s frail appearance during his 2005 trial for child molestation.

Speaking of people on trial: Jermaine believes Dr. Conrad Murray — whose involuntary manslaughter court case began Tuesday — was responsible for Michael’s death, “but we don’t know if he acted alone because the surveillance tape at the house was erased.” According to the investigation, he said, the Los Angeles Police Department erased the tapes.

“But something was erased before then, too,” Jermaine added. “We’re trying to get answers to all these questions.”
