Jon Bon Jovi may be a rock star, but he's also a parent. And when he found out his kid had OD'd on heroin, he was just as horrified as any other father would be.

The 'Livin' on a Prayer' rocker recently revealed he had no idea his 19-year-old daughter, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, had a drug problem, and that he found out about it when the rest of us did.

"I'm shocked as much as the next parent with this situation and had no idea," Bon Jovi told the Associated Press (via PEOPLE). "Steph is a great kid. Great GPA. Cool school … everything about it is idyllic. She was doing great, then a sudden and steep decline."

As snarky as we like to be around here, we can't with this. He's just so nice and we want to hug him. Seriously.

Bon Jovi also revealed he's a bit clueless when it comes to little girls. "I didn't have any sisters," he explained. "We bring home this girl the first day. Now what? Where's the manual? There was no manual. So you bring her up the best you can, you surround her with hugs and kisses and know that she may eventually fall down."

"I appreciate the outpouring of kindness in light of what happened in my household … No one knows the future," he admitted. "It is what it is."

Okay, maybe we will hold off on those 'Bad Medicine' jokes.
