Tony Lucca has been doing well enough on ‘The Voice‘ to not need much help, but he’s getting it from high places. Justin Timberlake has endorsed Lucca in the competition, which we’re sure will give him at least a bit of an advantage when it comes time to vote!

Lucca and Timberlake go way back to their ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ days, on which they both performed with ‘The Voice’ coach Christina Aguilera. (We wonder how she feels about Lucca choosing to go on Team Adam Levine!)

Timberlake voiced his support on Twitter, encouraging his listeners to tune in and vote for Lucca.

Lucca’s been successful on the show so far, defeating fellow Team Adam member and opponent Chris Cauley in the battle rounds. However, now it’s up to the viewing public, who can be much more fickle than the occasionally surprising panel.

Aside from bonding over singing and ‘MMC,’ Timberlake and Lucca may have something else in common to gossip about: Britney Spears. The pop superstar dated Timberlake at the height of ‘NSYNC’s heyday, and Aguilera revealed after Lucca’s audition that the ‘Hold It Against Me’ singer had a crush on Lucca back in the day. It’s a small, small pop world.

Take a trip down memory lane with the duo and check out this vintage clip of Lucca and Timberlake’s bandmate, J.C. Chasez, performing ‘Now and Forever’ on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club.’
