Here we go again with another remake of a classic movie that was adored by many women and men alike.  Steel Magnolias premiered on the big screen in 1989 and let the world experience laughter through tears.  What an amazing emotional ride Steel Magnolias took the audience on with it's all star cast.

According to Deadline.com

... Steel Magnolias is getting a contemporary remake with an all-black cast. Lifetime is developing an original movie based on the hit feature.  Kenny Leon, is attached to direct the new Steel Magnolias, which, like the movie, will be set in Louisiana and explore the bond among a group of women in the present day.

The original starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley McClaine, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts, Daryl Hannah and Tom Skerritt.  If you ask most women, this will be in their top 10 favorite movies off all time.

Again with the remakes, first Footloose, then Dirty Dancing, now Steel Magnolias.  Personally, I'm against remakes but if you are going to remake a classic, is Lifetime the way to go?

Should this remake happen?
