Man Sues Starbucks After Coffee Spills and He Gets Burned

A police officer from Raleigh, North Carolina, Matthew Kohr,  is suing Startbucks after the lid on his coffee came off and spilled in his lap.  The spill caused severe burns.  He is asking for $750,000 in damages.

In a perfect world, we all know that coffee is hot.  If coffee gets spilled it will probably burn you. Spills happen.

On top of it all it was a free cup of coffee. I guess that goes to show you that nothing is ever free.

So what do you think?  Should the jury give this man the money?
