Mattel To Add ‘Mariachi Barbie’ To Their Dolls of The World Collection

Growing up, I would love to go and look at the new Barbies.  I loved the ones that were dressed in foreign clothes.  Well, Mattel is adding to their 2014 Barbie Dolls of the World Collection and it is pretty cool.I have to say one of my favorite Barbies of all time is the German Barbie.  She is dressed for Oktoberfest and is so cute.  But this month, they are adding a doll from Mexico.  The new doll will be released on September 15th and will be Mariachi Barbie.

She is dressed in a traditional Mariachi outfit of a fitted black bolero jacket and cropped trousers.  They are both trimmed in a golden brocade that matches the pattern on her  wide-brimmed sombrero.  She also has a low ponytail, pink bow tie and tall black boots.

This isn't the first Mexican Barbie to be released, but according to a Mattel statement, it will represent "one of Mexico's most representative traditions in music and culture."
