It has been an "interesting" year in Amarillo. There has been plenty of controversy, unrest, and frustration. Next week, the Mayor and council members will be participating in the Mayor's State of the City Event.

The event begins October 10, at 7 AM. Unlike the meetings that were moved to be held at lunch time, there will be breakfast. I'd wager if there were biscuits and gravy during the public comment at 7 AM, it would have gone over better.

According to a press release, Mayor Ginger Nelson stated that, "We will talk about what goals we set for the city, what goals we achieved in 2018 and what challenge's need to be tackled in 2019."

The event will be held at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts. Along with the mayor, council members will also be participating in the discussion regarding issues affecting Amarillo.

Tickets are available at City Hall, third floor, Administration office. They are first-come, first-served.
